One of their styles highlights the need to bring back classical architecture by adapting them to current times. Design21 presents classical living rooms that blend traditional elements in a contemporary luxury design.
Classical Architecture
Classical architecture refers to the style originally developed by Romans and Greeks that became an inspiration for generations of architects. Typically it features design elements like symmetry, proportion, rhythm and harmony set in a backdrop of marble. Classical home design is an interplay of elegant shapes, fluid lines, and refined textiles. Design21 promotes such design styles that are awe-inspiring, fluid, and an amalgamation of classic and contemporary styles.
Wall Panelling
Wall-panelling is one of the enduring hallmarks of a classic living room. The above presented living room is both contemporary and classical, with an asymmetrical marble-top coffee table enhancing the black marble-clad walls, and making it feel modern. Black marble with white veining used on the walls provide a colour and texture contrast in the beige room. The furnishings, exquisite wallpapers, and monochrome colours with a touch of natural wood surfaces complement each other and create the perfect balance. The conventional wall panelling, modern furniture and chandelier with classical details tie the space in a monochrome opulence.

A Modern Take on the Classical Style
The above living room leans towards another example of a modern take on classical style. The walls are kept muted and the furniture brings out the essence of the room. The chesterfield patterned sofas are placed in a way that emphasizes symmetry in the room. The classical vibe is enhanced with the use of artefacts, furniture, and accessories. Accent lighting along with table lamps grab attention. These elements combine to create a home both modern and classical.
A Play of Colours
Another basic tenet of a classic room is use of yellow and green shades. While the above living room does use a lot of neutrals, the green has been replaced by royal blue to make it more refined. The classical features in this interior space include elements like jaali and sofa patterns creating a sense of symmetry in a contemporary living room. The large ceiling is a modern take on glass icicles that ties the two sides of the seating areas together.
The traditional or classic architecture style can lend itself to elegance and sophistication seamlessly. Design 21 is pioneering in combining traditional design methods in a modern design style and creating classical living rooms.
