On Wednesday, 19th July, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar laid the foundation stone of three key Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) projects worth INR 144.32 Crore.
The projects comprise the construction of leg IV drain between Vatika Chowk and NH48 along Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), establishing a 33/11 KV substation at Behrampur Sewage Treatment Plant, and setting up a 66KV substation at Basai Water Treatment Plant. The authorities will execute the work in a time-bound manner, aimed at enhancing the civic amenities for the citizens.
The plan includes the construction of a 5.2 km long stormwater drain, costing INR 104 crore, which will run from Vatika Chowk, Sohna Road, up to NH-48 along SPR. The completion target for this drain is set for October 2024. Additionally, there will be a 66/11 KV substation established at the WTP to improve water supply services and address power outage complaints. The project was awarded on an EPC mode for INR 23.40 crore and is expected to be completed within 15 months.
Furthermore, a 33/11 KV substation will be established at the STP to ensure the smooth operation of the Behrampur Sewage Treatment Plant.
