Coca-Cola to invest INR 3,000 Crore to set up plant in Gujarat’s Sanand

The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC), an American multinational beverage manufacturer, is set to invest INR 3,000 Crore in establishing a beverage plant in Sanand, located 22km from Ahmedabad. The company will make the foreign direct investment (FDI) through International Refreshments (India) Private Limited (IRIPL), a part of TCCC. 

The company has been allotted a plot of land (SM-52) measuring 1.6 Lakh Square meters in Sanand Industrial Estate – II for the plant. The facility will incorporate the Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-learning technology-enabled devices for real-time monitoring and control of manufacturing processes. Once operational, the plant will employ around 400 individuals in operational and engineering roles.

The establishment of the new plant is anticipated to stimulate ancillary industries, including packaging suppliers, flavor producers, engineering services, capital goods, and automation sectors. 

The company, through its bottling partner Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Limited, already operates a facility in Goblej, located approximately 33 km from Ahmedabad, along with another one in Sanand. These two facilities were set up with a combined investment of $180 million.
