Pune Metro Line 3 (Megapolis, Hinjewadi – Civil Court)
The Pune Metro Line 3 (Megapolis, Hinjewadi – Civil Court) is currently under construction. Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) is developing this project. Metro line 3 will run from Civil Court, Pune to Megapolis Pune in Hinjewadi. This completely elevated line covers a total length of 23.3 km. Metro line 3 will mainly cater to the information and technology sector. PMRDA will take up construction in two phases. In Phase I, PMRDA will take up the section between Hinjewadi and Balewadi. PMRDA will take up the section between Balewadi and Civil Court Shivajinagar in Phase II. The Megapolis, Hinjewadi – Civil Court Line will have 23 elevated stations.
The total project construction cost is INR 8,313 crores. The project began in 2022 and the project finishes in 2025. As of August 2022, PMRDA completed the 1,000th piling near Balewadi stadium. They also completed 12147 running metres of barricading work on the Hinjewadi to Shivajinagar. PMRDA completed laying 22 piers and erecting the first viaduct segment.
