Mumbai’s iconic rail terminus, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), is undergoing a huge redevelopment. The project includes constructing multiple elevated decks above outstation train platforms to streamline passenger movement. With an estimated investment of 2,450 INR-Crore, the work is at an advanced stage.

The CSMT redevelopment introduces 100 lifts, 75 escalators, and 10 travelators for easy access. Additionally, a multilevel car parking facility will accommodate 1,700 cars. The first floor of the elevated concourse will feature ticket counters, air-conditioned waiting areas, and food stalls. Meanwhile, the second floor will host a city center complete with shopping malls, entertainment zones, restaurants, and tourist-friendly spaces. Along DN Road, the elevated deck will offer food stalls, seating areas, ticket counters, and ATVMs, all connected by a 25-meter foot overbridge.
