Delhi govt approves construction of 3 new district court complexes

The Delhi Government approved the construction of three new district court complexes in Rohini 26, Shashtri Park, and Karkardooma, on Monday, January 15, during the Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) Meeting. The project will add 200 new courtrooms to the state’s courtroom count.

The proposed Rohini court complex will be developed at an estimated cost of INR 714 Crore and will include the development of 100 new courtrooms and 270 lawyer chambers with modern facilities. The facility will have two blocks with three basements, a ground floor, and 11 top storeys. The project is anticipated to be completed within 24 months with four months dedicated to planning and 20 months for execution.

The Shashtri Park court complex will be developed with an approximate investment of INR 193.42 Crore, including 48 courtrooms and 175 lawyer stations with modern amenities. The Karkardooma court project will include constructing an additional block with 50 courtrooms adjacent to the existing court at an estimated cost of INR 199.39 Crore. These projects are anticipated to be completed within 23 months with two months dedicated to planning and 20 months for construction.

Additionally, better public facilities will be developed for the convenience of judges, lawyers, and citizens.
