Electrosteel Castings, one of India’s leading producers of ductile iron pipes, plans to set up a new DI (Ductile Iron) pipe and fittings plant in Odisha. This move is aimed at the company’s large-scale expansion and future diversification.
Electrosteel Castings has already secured an anticipated 500-acre plot for the project. The greenfield plant will have nearly 0.5 million tonnes capacity, equivalent to about 60% of ECL’s existing capacity of 0.85 million tonnes. The company plans to fund the project mostly from internal accruals.

Moreover, Electrosteel Castings is expanding the capacity of its Srikalahasthi Works in Andhra Pradesh by 150,000 tonnes at an estimated investment of INR 64 Crore. This expansion will be operational within a year, taking ECL’s combined capacity to 1 million tonnes.
