The Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA) approved development projects worth an estimated INR 2,600 Crore on Wednesday, July 10. They prioritized solving drinking water and drainage problems.
Under this initiative, FMDA will construct 22 Ranney wells, 70 tube wells using reverse rotary technology, and 8 boosting stations. Furthermore, a network of subsidiary boosting stations will be constructed to bolster the main stations, and an extensive 500 Km pipeline will be laid. With this project’s execution, the water supply capacity will soar to 450 Megaliters per day (MLD). Once this major project is completed by 2028-2029, Faridabad will have 56 Ranney wells and 220 tube wells.

Additionally, FMDA greenlit an estimated INR 1289 Crore sewage system revamp to improve rainwater drainage. This includes repairing or replacing the main sewer and damaged pips along with the intersection of the stormwater drain.
Moreover, to ensure an uninterrupted water supply and improve groundwater levels, FMDA approved a project to develop water bodies along the Yamuna River, costing an estimated INR 17 Crore. This ambitious venture will significantly enhance Faridabad’s infrastructure and living conditions.
