The Hyderabad Airport Metro Ltd (HAML) has been dedicated to constructing a state-of-the-art airport metro transport service within the city, aiming to improve transportation facilities for residents. In line with future requirements, HAML has initiated the construction of four supplementary metro stations.

The current proposal encompasses nine metro stations along the 31-kilometre Metro line, extending from the Raidurg metro station to the Airport terminal station. Additionally, there is a provision for an underground metro station located near the airport terminal. However, subsequent to an updated survey and alignment adjustments, a new configuration was identified. According to this plan, the authorities propose a 29.3 km predominantly elevated stretch, with a 1.7 km underground segment. To cater to the future development of the city, four additional metro stations are included in the construction plans.

The project, valued at 6,250 INR-crore, is entirely funded by the Telangana government. In addition, a team of engineering consultants comprising Systra, a multinational engineering and consulting company based in France, Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES), a public sector unit of Indian Railways, and DB Engineering company from Germany has been appointed as the general consultants (GC) for the project.
