On May 09, 2023, Anand Group’s Gabriel India and Netherlands-based Inalfa Roof Systems signed an agreement to establish local sunroof manufacturing in India.
Gabriel India has formed a wholly-owned subsidiary named Inalfa Gabriel Sunroof Systems (IGSS) for this purpose. The subsidiary will operate a new plant near Chennai, scheduled to commence operations by March 2024, with an estimated investment of USD 22 million (INR 181 crores).
The Chennai plant will have a production capacity of 200,000 sunroofs annually. Upon receiving regulatory approvals later this year, IGSS will be converted into a joint venture between Inalfa Roof Systems Group and Gabriel India, with the former holding a 51 percent stake.
