Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL), a leading defence PSU, has decided to construct a new runway that will be parallel to the existing one at Nashik Airport. The project’s estimated cost is 200 INR-Crore. This ambitious project aims to enhance operational efficiency and support the city’s expanding aviation requirements.
HAL has already appointed a consultant to design the new runway and evaluate technical parameters. The agency is currently conducting a technical survey, analyzing factors like soil conditions and structural feasibility. Once the survey concludes, HAL will initiate the tendering process for construction. Authorities expect to release the tender by the end of March, and the entire development may take approximately two years.

The new runway will stretch approximately 3 Km in length and 45 M in width, mirroring the existing one. This additional infrastructure will ensure uninterrupted operations, even when the primary runway undergoes repairs. Furthermore, the new runway will not only boost operational reliability but also support the growing air connectivity in Nashik.
