Hyderabad Airport Metro Phase II to span 116 Km at over 32,000 INR-Crore with extension to ‘Fourth City’

Hyderabad Airport Metro Ltd (HAML) has proposed a new metro extension. This extension will connect Shamshabad Airport to the proposed Fourth City via Mansanpally Road and the ORR stretch between Pedda Golconda and Raviryal exits. The project will cost an estimated 8,000 INR-Crore

Furthermore, the entire Hyderabad Airport Metro phase II expansion spans approximately 116.2 Km, with a projected cost of 32,237 INR-Crore. This includes five other corridors, worth an estimated 24,237 INR-Crore. The Telangana and Central Governments will implement this joint venture. Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) are expected to be submitted in the coming months.

The proposed corridor to the Fourth City will stretch around 40 Km from Shamshabad Airport to the Skill University location. It will feature a 2 Km underground section near the airport, a 20 Km elevated portion, and an 18 Km at-grade segment. This at-grade portion will form part of a newly proposed 300 Ft greenfield road.

Corridor IV, known as the Airport Corridor, will run 36.6 Km from Nagole to Shamshabad Airport, connecting to existing metro lines at Nagole, L.B Nagar, and Chandrayangutta. With 35 Km elevated and 1.6 Km underground, the corridor will have 24 metro stations, including one underground station at the airport.

The Corridor V extends the Blue Line from Raidurg Metro Station to Kokapet Neopolis. This 11.6 Km line will be entirely elevated, passing through key hubs like Wipro Circle and the Financial District, featuring eight stations. Meanwhile, Corridor VI (Old City Metro) extends the Green Line from MGBS to Chandrayangutta. Spanning 7.5 Km, this line passes through Mandi Road and features six stations.

The Red Line extends through Corridors VII and VIII. Corridor VII, a 13.4 Km stretch from Miyapur to Patancheru, will feature ten stations. Moreover, Corridor VIII will span 7.1 Km from L.B Nagar to Hayatnagar, with six stations along the Vijayawada Highway.

For the Old City Metro, road widening efforts are underway. Notifications have already been issued to 400 of the 1,100 properties affected by the project. This Hyderabad Airport Metro expansion will further transform urban mobility, with the new corridors connecting key areas and driving infrastructure growth.
