The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Amritsar, which is presently operating from the transit campus located inside the Punjab Institute of Technology, Government Polytechnic Compound will soon get its own campus.
The permanent campus would be developed on a land spread over 61-acres on the Amritsar-Jalandhar road at Manawala.
On October 7 2019, a groundbreaking ceremony was held in the presence of chief guest Union Minister of Human Resource Development (HRD) Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Minister for Higher Education and Languages Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa.
The HRD Minister sanctioned Rs. 350 crore for the first phase of the construction while an additional amount of Rs. 250 crore too would be allocated for the project.
The proposed project of phase 1 involves the construction of infrastructure development for faculty and administration, library, academic block, hostel block, community centre, and incubation centre.
