Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Goa which is presently operating from the transit campus will soon get a permanent campus at Melauli Village, Tehsil Sattari in North Goa.

The Institute is proposed to be established on a land of about 250 acres. This development shall be undertaken in a phased manner.

The project envisages the development of a fully residential campus for 5,000 students. Facilities for 1,200 students are expected in Phase 1, for 1300 students in Phase 2, and the full campus of 5,000 students in Phase 3.

The site of the project is located about 20 km from the Transit Campus of IIT Goa currently located in Ponda. Madgaon Railway Station is 40 km away from the project site, and the nearest Railway Station at Karmali is 36 km away. Similarly, the nearest airport is the Dabolim Airport, which is 50 km away from the site.
