Marubeni Corporation, a Japanese general trading company, is considering the establishment of a hi-tech industrial park on 720 acres of land near Kolar, Karnataka.
The company aims to invest INR 10,000 crore in the state, with INR 2,800 crore as a direct investment for the park’s development, and the remaining INR 8,000 crore through foreign direct investment. This project is expected to create 40,000 job opportunities and is estimated to add $2 billion to Karnataka’s economy.
The company has already identified suitable land in Bavanahalli near Vemagal, Kolar district, and discussions are underway with the Karnataka government and KIADB (Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board). The Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry of Japan has already approved the feasibility report for this proposed industrial zone development.
