Bespoke home furnishings brand Javi Home debuts in time for the summer with the Ottoman-inspired Kilim Collection of custom-made rugs.
About Javi Home
Javi Home launched its handcrafted Kilim collection of rugs. These rugs pay respect to the carpet-weaving techniques of the Ottoman Empire. They also share textile traditions of Turkey and India. Mr Vibhor Jain is the founder of Javi Home. He found the company in 2011. For over a decade, the company took Indian craftsmanship to 65 countries. They are the designers and manufacturers for top international clients. These include Anthropologie, Crate and Barrel, John Lewis, Serena Lily, Arhaus, and Restoration Hardware. Vibhor Jain and his son Naman Jain shared the vision for bringing global trends and designs of the same quality to India while retaining exclusivity by being custom-made. They are arguably the first Indian brand to offer customisation of rugs.
The Kilim Collection
With soft colours, soothing tones and patterns of playful geometric abstraction, the Kilim Collection is designed to blend into the minimalist contemporary interior while staying true to its tropical Indian roots. The collection comprises four exclusive designs, with motifs inspired by the nature of human emotions, visualised as sharp geometric forms woven in traditional flat-weave techniques like Punja Loom. Made of wool and viscose, all rugs are equal parts soft and breathable.
The Aster, Bright Light Cosmo, and Spinosa Cleome Rugs
The diamonds on the Aster rug represent the human mind, the union of souls, and the concept of immortality. Through the playful use of colour and complementary arrow shapes, the rug creates a clever visual narrative inspired by the idea of transcendence. In the Pixie Dwarf Lupin rug, colourful star shapes extend across the surface, reflecting the vibrancy of boundless joy. In Bright Light Cosmo and Spinosa Cleome, a soft grey undertone cools down the palette, while the structured patterns create a more meditative, mindful geometry. Made-to-order and custom-created, all rugs in the collection are in keeping with the brand’s focus on hand-crafted, ethically-manufactured design.
Sustainable Production Practices
Javi Home commits to sustainable production practices and aims to become a 100 per cent carbon neutral company. Every step of the specially engineered production process is as eco-responsible as possible. All products are completely free of petrochemicals. Almost all Javi Home rugs are made entirely of natural fibres and are soil-compostable within 5 months.
“The Kilim collection represents the spectrum of human emotions, and how those emotions are perceived in our society. Our commitment as a brand is to get better every day, whether it is to improve our infrastructure so that we can serve our clients better, or whether it is to engineer our operations procedures so that they can be as sustainable as possible.” Naman Jain, Head of Retail – Javi Home.
