J&K L-G lays foundation stone of 1st direct foreign investment project

On 19th March, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Manoj Sinha, laid the foundation stone for the construction of a mega shopping mall in Srinagar’s Sempora area. 

The Dubai-based Emaar Group will be investing INR 250 crore in the project, which marks the first foreign direct investment in the Union territory. 

The Mall of Srinagar is expected to fuel economic growth in J&K and enhance bilateral trade and investment ties between India and UAE. 

The complex will span over 10 lakh SqFt and is expected to be completed by 2026, featuring more than 500 shops, making it one of the largest malls in the region.
