India’s leading multinational steel producer, JSW Steel, is planning a significant expansion at its Dolvi plant. The company will invest an estimated INR 19,000 Crore in this capacity addition.
The expansion aims to cater for the demand for value-added special steel products. JSW Steel will add 5 million tonnes of capacity, taking its total capacity to 15 million tonnes per annum by September 2027.

JSW Steel’s capacity addition cost is around USD 460 per tonne, significantly lower than the global average cost of USD 700. The company will fund this expansion primarily through internal accruals. This strategic move positions JSW Steel to meet growing demand and enhance its production capabilities.
