Jupiter Wagons arm secures land for India’s first private railwheel and axle forging plant in Odisha

Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Pvt Ltd (JTRF), a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons Ltd, has secured land in Haldiapada, Khordha, Odisha, for its upcoming Railwheel & Axle forging plant. Jupiter plans to invest an estimated 2,500 INR-Crore in multiple phases over the next few years to develop this advanced railwheel plant. 

The facility will manufacture 100,000 forged wheelsets annually, catering to both domestic and international markets. Nearly half of the production will be exported, primarily to Tatravagonka A.S., a Slovakian rail infrastructure giant, along with several European firms. Moreover, JTRF is the first railway heavy engineering industry in Odisha in the private sector.

This initiative represents a significant step in the company’s growth strategy, strengthening Odisha’s role as a key center for advanced industrial manufacturing. Furthermore, the project falls under the “Invest Odisha” program, managed by Invest India. With cutting-edge technology and a strategic location, this railwheel plant by Jupiter is set to revolutionize the railway engineering sector while driving economic growth in the region.
