Afcons Infrastructure has emerged as the lowest and the sole technically qualified bidder for the Kochi Metro project. Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) has awarded the metro’s Phase 2 contract to Afcons at an estimated INR 1,141.32 Crore.
The project involves designing and constructing an elevated viaduct and 10 elevated stations. Kochi Metro’s Phase 2 will feature an 11.2 km elevated line called the Pink Line. The elevated stations will connect JLN Stadium, Kakkanad, and Infopark (Smart City). Afcons plans to begin construction in July.

Additionally, KMRL aims to complete the civil construction of the Pink Line in 20 months while system and signaling works will take an additional four months. The project will also include two special spans of steel trusses, each over 60 meters long.
