The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs will fund 50% of the total project cost, making Pune Metro Phase 2 a major step toward transforming the city’s urban transit landscape.

In August last year, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) submitted a draft detailed project report (DPR) to the state government. Maha-Metro was commissioned to prepare the DPR and AAR for seven planned metro extensions, totaling 82.5 Km under Pune Metro Phase 2. These extensions include Khadakwasla-Kharadi, Paud Phata-Manik Baug, and further links from Ramwadi to Wagholi and Vanaz to Chandni Chowk.
