The Maharashtra Government has sanctioned an estimated 770.49 INR-Crore to revamp the Kalamboli Junction on the Sion-Panvel Highway. The project will ease traffic congestion as well as improve connectivity to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA).

The upcoming Kalamboli Junction revamp, spanning nearly 15.53 Km, will showcase a state-of-the-art interchange with four level roads. A two-level interchange, incorporating a directional/stacked system, will facilitate signal-free traffic flow. Consequently, this design will eliminate cross-conflict at grade, significantly reducing queueing delays for traffic on all routes.

While a consultant has been appointed, the tenders are set to be called soon. This Kalamboli Junction revamp, which connects major routes such as the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, NH-48, NH-548, and the Sion-Panvel Highway will ensure signal-free traffic flow in the region.
