Maharshi Valmiki International Airport set for 1,625 INR-Crore Expansion

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is set to expand the Maharshi Valmiki International Airport at an estimated cost of 1,625 INR-Crore. This project will transform the airport, improving capacity and infrastructure to meet rising travel demands.  

The Maharshi Valmiki International Airport currently manages 0.16 million passengers per year and will soon accommodate around 6 million. The project is slated for completion within the next 28 months. Additionally, the total area will expand from 141 hectares to 331 hectares, ensuring better facilities and smoother operations.

Furthermore, to handle the surge in air traffic, the number of aircraft bays will rise from 8 to 18. With these upgrades, the Maharshi Valmiki International Airport will offer faster services, enhanced efficiency, and a world-class travel experience.
