The Mumbai Board of Maharashtra Housing and Development Authority (MHADA) will initiate construction projects of over 35,000 homes in this new year, under the state government’s 100-day program.
The plan includes rehabilitating 27,000 slums in Sanjay Gandhi National Park, redeveloping the Abhyudaya Nagar cluster, and reconstructing 25 buildings for Sindhi refugees in GTB Nagar. Groundbreaking ceremonies for these MHADA projects will commence soon. Within the next two months, construction of over these homes will begin across Mumbai.

These three transformative projects will deliver approximately 31,500 homes, including 27,000 in the national park, 3,350 in Abhyudaya Nagar, and 1,200 in GTB Nagar. The redevelopment of Abhyudaya Nagar will also create 40,000 SqM of additional area for new housing units. Meanwhile, the GTB Nagar project will yield an impressive 23,000 SqM of extra space.
Together, these MHADA projects promise to bring new opportunities for urban development and better living standards.
