Mitsubishi Electric India Private Limited, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan, has announced plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Peruvoyal Village, Gummidipoondi Taluk, Tiruvallur district.
The facility will produce Room Air Conditioners (RAC) and compressors, marking Mitsubishi’s first AC production unit in India. The project involves a 100 percent Foreign Direct Investment amounting to INR 1,891 crore and will create approximately 2,000 job opportunities on a sprawling 52.4-acre land.
Future expansion plans include the addition of Precision Air Conditioning (PAC) and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems for commercial use. In addition, the facility will house a Research and Development (R&D) center to enhance product testing and drive innovation.
Mitsubishi’s investment is expected to attract numerous suppliers and ancillary industries to the state, bolstering economic growth. The manufacturing facility is scheduled to commence operations by October 2025.
