Mother Dairy to invest INR 750 Crore to set up 2 dairy processing plants

Mother Dairy, a leading milk supplier, in its endeavours to expand and reach the needs of customers, plans to invest an estimated INR 750 Crore to enhance the Dairy and F&V (Fruits and Vegetables) processing capacities across key locations. The company will set up two new plants worth INR 650 Crore and invest INR 100 Crore to expand its existing facilities.

Mother Dairy will set up its greenfield milk processing plant in Nagpur, Maharashtra at an estimated INR 525 Crore. It will have a processing capacity of 600,000 litres per day which is further expandable to a million litres per day. The greenfield plant will serve the central and southern regions.

The company also plans to invest INR 125 Crore towards setting up a fruit processing plant in Karnataka under the brand ‘Safal‘. Both these plants are anticipated to be operational within two years.

At present, Mother Dairy has nine company-owned processing plants for dairy with a combined milk processing capacity of more than 5 million litres per day. For the horticulture (fruits and vegetables) segment, the company has four plants, while for edible oils it manufactures through 15 associated plants.
