Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Limited has begun the construction of Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Limited (MPRDC) Sports Complex at Nathu Barkheda, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The proposed project envisages the construction of world-class sports infrastructure for the city of Bhopal. As of August 2022, the initial tender floated for choosing the civil work contractor has been withdrawn, and a new tender will be floated for the same.

The construction work for MPRDC Sports Complex began in the year 2022 with an expected completion date in 2023. It will extend across an area of over 3,00,000 to 5,00,000 sq. ft. and will be tantamount to a construction cost of INR 103 crores. The project will be developed in a phased manner in three phases. A football stadium with a capacity of 10,000 spectators and a hockey arena with a capacity of 4,000 spectators will be constructed in the first phase. In the last phase, the cricket stadium will be built. The first phase’s anticipated cost is INR 140 crores.
