MYH Hospital set for INR 600 Crore transformation into Model Hospital

Maharaja Yeshwantrao Holkar Hospital (MYH), affiliated with MGM Medical College in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, is set to transform significantly into a Model Hospital. The PWD and PIU have prepared a plan and sent it to the government for approval. The estimated project cost for this ambitious endeavor is INR 600 Crore.

The scope of work includes renovating the existing MYH structure to address drainage and seepage issues, repainting, and improving ward conditions. Nine operation theaters (on the ground floor) will be converted into modular OTs, whereas a new OT complex will be constructed on the first floor.

Moreover, the MRTB (Manorama Raje Tuberculosis Hospital) will be demolished and replaced with a new building. It will feature state-of-the-art tuberculosis (TB) treatment and lab facilities. Additionally, a 200-bed trauma center will be established to better handle emergency cases.

The capacity of Chacha Nehru Children’s Hospital will be doubled from 100 to 200 beds. Enhanced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) facilities will better serve pediatric patients from the region.

Additionally, the project involves constructing a multi-level residential building for doctors and staff. A multi-level parking facility will be built to solve parking space shortages. Improvements to the blood bank are also proposed to reduce patient wait times and enhance service quality.
