Sustainable energy solutions provider, NexGen Energia, on Monday, March 18, announced that it plans to invest an estimated INR 1,000 Crore towards setting up an EV (Electronic Vehicles) Manufacturing Unit in Jammu and Kashmir. The company is currently scouting for 100-acre land either in the Kathua industrial area or in the Kashmir Valley.
The upcoming EV Manufacturing Plant will be developed in collaboration with the Government and is poised to fulfil the company’s aim of a self-reliant India, alongside ‘Make in India‘. The manufacturing plant will generate 1 Lakh direct and indirect job opportunities.

NexGen Energia has a range of EVs two-wheelers and three-wheelers ready for launch. It will eventually start production of electric buses, trucks and cars in the future, said Piyush Dwivedi, Chairman of NexGen Energia.
