Nexgen Energia to invest INR 3,000 Crore to set up CBG plant in Gujarat

Nexgen Energia, the sustainable energy solutions provider, on Wednesday, March 6, announced an estimated investment of INR 3,000 Crore towards setting up a Compressed BioGas (CBG) plant in Gujarat. The company presented the proposal for this project during a meeting with the Gujarat CM and will sign the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) soon for the same.

Nexgen will start supplying compressed biogas directly to the CNG pumps post-commissioning of the CBG Plant. The organic fertiliser that will be made from CNG produced from stubble and waste through the CBG plant will be given to the farmers who provide the stubble.

Additionally, the company will also set up EV units and other related setups in the state. The investment of INR 3,000 Crore has been agreed upon in the combined projects (CBG and EV). Nexgen Energia has already set up CBG plants in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana. During the Uttar Pradesh Investors Summit, the company also proposed large-scale investments in the state.
