The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) intends to bring the development of Thiruvananthapuram’s proposed Outer Ring Road project closer to reality by floating an e-tender for the project on February 1st, 2023.
The NHAI has divided the tender into two reaches — the first, a 29-kilometre stretch from Navaikulam to Thekkada, and the second, a 33.4-kilometre stretch from Thekkada to Vizhinjam.
Surprisingly, no tender has been called for developing the link road that connects Thekkada and Mangalapuram.
Both the Navaikulam-Thekkada road and the Thekkada-Vizhinjam stretch are projected to cost INR 1,478.31 crores and INR 1,489.15 crores, respectively. The e-tender is available for viewing on the NHAI website, and the deadline for bids is March 16.
