The Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), Sagarmala Development Company Limited (SDCL), and the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly develop a container freight station (CFS) and warehousing facility at the airport.
The objective is to enhance the port’s capacity to handle the growing export-import container traffic in the hinterland. To accomplish this, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) has been established, and the project aims to be completed by June 2025.
The proposed CFS-cum-warehouse will occupy 16.6 acres of port land with an estimated cost of INR 125.42 Crore. NMPA will contribute the land’s value of approximately INR 44.25 crore, while SDCL and CWC will equally share the remaining amount.
