The Odisha Cabinet, on Saturday, February 8, approved 11 key proposals aimed at boosting housing, infrastructure, and sports development. Among the approved proposals, the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana stands out as a significant initiative to provide housing for weaker sections.
Under the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana, the state government plans to construct 2.25 lakh pucca houses over the next three years. Each beneficiary will receive 1.2 INR-Lakh to build a 25 SqM house. Additionally, the cabinet approved the construction of block-level stadiums across all 314 blocks in Odisha. The projects, worth an estimated 4,124 INR-Crore, will promote grassroots sports and nurture sporting talent. Furthermore, the stadiums will feature facilities for football, cricket, athletics, and other sports.

The cabinet also sanctioned funds for dam rehabilitation and bridge construction projects to improve connectivity and infrastructure in the state. These proposals reflect a strong commitment to improving infrastructure, housing security, and sports development in Odisha. With these proposals, the government aims to uplift communities and create a more inclusive and prosperous environment for all residents.
