Odisha’s SWC approves 4,671 INR-Crore for Renewable Energy projects

Odisha’s Single Window Committee (SWC) has granted in-principle approval for investment proposals exceeding 4,671.81 INR-Crore in the renewable energy sector. The SWC approved these proposals during its 7th meeting on Monday, September 30.

The approved projects have a combined renewable energy capacity of approximately 749.5 MW. Among these is a 600 MW Pumped Storage Plant (PSP) by OHPC, located in the Kalahandi district. Additionally, ONGC Tripura Power Company Ltd (OTPCL) will develop three wind power projects, totaling around 148.5 MW. These will be located across the Nabarangpur, Khurda, and Jagatsinghpur districts. Lastly, a 1.4 MW rooftop solar project will also be established in Patia, Bhubaneswar.

These efforts align with Odisha’s vision to promote transformative renewable energy projects and reach its goal of 10 GW by 2030. Through the Energy Department and GRIDCO, the state remains committed to driving the growth of renewable energy.
