In March 2025, Biltrax Construction Data documented over 1,407 new construction projects. These include 798 building projects and 609 industrial & infrastructure projects.
Building Construction Projects Insights – March 2025
The 798 new building projects incorporated in March 2025 cover a combined 228.61 Million-SqFt, with a total construction cost of 90,714 INR-Crore. Of these, 314 projects are under construction, while 484 are in the early stages. The breakdown further includes 485 private projects and 313 public projects.
Among the significant construction projects in March 2025 is Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)’s mixed-use development in Bhopal. This redevelopment at Piplani will include high-rise residential buildings, commercial infrastructure, a convention center, a sports center, hotels, hospitals, and affordable housing, along with others. Moreover, the project’s estimated construction cost is 6,288 INR-Crore. As of March 2025, NBCC has floated a tender for the selection of a consultant for comprehensive consultancy services.
Another notable construction project in March included the development of the Azim Premji University in Ranchi. This healthcare educational project has an estimated construction cost of 3,000 INR-Crore. Being developed by Azim Premji Foundation, this project is expected to be completed by 2027. In March 2025, 386 new tenders were floated with a total tender value of over 14,880.71 INR-Crore. Notable tender issuers include the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Public Works Department, Maharashtra (PWD), NBCC (India) Ltd, and Madhya Pradesh Police Housing & Infrastructure Development Corporation (MPPHC).
Industrial and Infrastructure Projects Insights
In March 2025, Biltrax’s BX-2 platform also documented 438 industrial projects worth 201,925 INR-Crore & 171 infrastructure projects worth 22,718 INR-Crore.
The 438 industrial projects span a total area of 72.61 Million-SqFt. Maharashtra led with 87 projects. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha, and Telangana followed closely.
BX-2 tracked 132 water infrastructure projects worth 11,038 INR-Crore in March. Kerala and Uttar Pradesh attracted the highest number of water projects. BX-2 documented 19 and 18 water infrastructure projects in the states, respectively. Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh followed closely.
March 2025 also saw major transport infrastructure projects. One such notable project is the Public Works Roads Department (PWRD)- Assam’s road infrastructure project. This project involves the improvement and upgradation of the road from Balichapori, Majuli to Bongalmara, Lakhimpur. Additionally, it includes the construction of two major bridges over the Luit and Subansiri rivers on EPC mode. The estimated construction cost of the project is 785 INR-Crore.
Lastly, a major industrial project in March 2025 includes the Hindalco Industries expansion of the Aluminum Smelter Manufacturing Unit in Bargawan. This project has an estimated investment cost of 10,000 INR-Crore. The overall construction cost of the project is projected at 8,000 INR-Crore with a construction area of approximately 1,200,000 SqFt.
