In April 2025, Biltrax Construction Data documented over 1,562 new construction projects. These include 955 building projects and 607 industrial & infrastructure projects.
Building Construction Projects Insights – April 2025
The 955 new building projects incorporated in April 2025 cover a combined 242.33 Million-SqFt, with a total construction cost of 86,942 INR-Crore. Of these, 336 projects are under construction, while 619 are in the early stages. The breakdown further includes 547 private projects and 408 public projects.
Among the significant construction projects in April 2025 is Homeland Group’s mixed-use development in Mohali, Punjab. Spreading an anticipated 15 Acres of land parcel, this development will include g an uber premium mall, a high-end mall with India’s largest indoor arena for live performances and entertainment events, luxurious serviced apartments, high-end retail and boutique offices with large IT floor plates, among other facilities. As of May 2025, the site is under initial site set-up stage, with the foundation laid and a contractor yet to be appointed.
Another notable construction project in April included the development of the DCSEM LIGO India Observatory Building in Aundha, Maharashtra. This Miscellaneous Public Building project has an estimated construction cost of 1,600 INR-Crore. Spearheaded by LIGO India, this project is expected to be completed by 2029.
In April 2025, Biltrax recorded 496 new tenders with a total tender value of over 26,733.09 INR-Crore. Notable tender issuers include the Public Works (Building & NH) Department (PWD) Assam, Military Engineer Services (MES), Public Works Department, Maharashtra (PWD), NBCC (India) Ltd, and Construction & Design Services Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (CDSUPJN).
Industrial and Infrastructure Projects Insights
In April 2025, Biltrax’s BX-2 platform also documented 432 industrial projects worth 64,820 INR-Crore & 175 infrastructure projects worth 26,120 INR-Crore.
The 432 industrial projects span a total area of 54.77 Million-SqFt. Maharashtra led with 88 projects. Meanwhile, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana followed closely.
BX-2 also tracked 128 water infrastructure projects worth 15,084 INR-Crore in April. Maharashtra attracted the highest number of water projects. BX-2 documented 31 water infrastructure projects in the state. Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh followed closely.
April 2025 also saw major transport infrastructure projects. One such notable project is the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation Ltd’s road infrastructure project. This project involves the development of the Ujjain – Jaora access-controlled greenfield highway. Additionally, it includes Ujjain spur connectivity as 4-lane with paved shoulder in Madhya Pradesh. The estimated construction cost of this 98 Km-long road project is 2,029 INR-Crore.
Lastly, a major industrial project in April 2025 includes the Kshoma Green Energy solar module and solar cell manufacturing unit in Khordha. This project has an estimated investment cost of 6,948 INR-Crore. The overall construction cost of the project is projected at 5,000 INR-Crore with a construction area of approximately 450,000 SqFt.
