PEWIN plans to expand Sri City unit capacity four-fold by investing 400 INR-Crore

Panasonic Electric Works India (PEWIN) is set to increase the installed capacity of switches and sockets in Sri City by fourfold in two phases till 2030. The company plans to invest an estimated 400 INR-Crore in this project. 

Currently, the facility produces 10 million switches and sockets monthly. PEWIN aims to increase this output to 20 million units in the second phase and establish a new plant to add another 20 million units in the third phase. In the initial stage, the company invested around 300 INR-Crore to manufacture Roma, Penta Modular, and Ziva switches and sockets. 

The second phase will see an additional investment of 100 INR-Crore. By April, the production capacity will rise to 12 million units. It will then grow to 16 million units in September and reach 20 million units shortly after. This phase is expected to conclude by 2025.

Furthermore, by 2027, PEWIN will begin work on a new building in Sri City under the third phase, requiring another 300 INR-Crore investment. Additionally, the company is considering introducing new products, including switchgears, wires, and fans, to diversify its portfolio. Through these bold initiatives, PEWIN aims to cement its position as a market leader while meeting India’s growing demand for high-quality electrical solutions.
