PM Modi launches projects worth 6,700 INR-Crore in Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 23 development projects worth an estimated 6,700 INR-Crore on Sunday, October 20, from the Sports Complex in Sigra, Varanasi. Among these, 16 projects valued at over 3,200 INR-Crore focus directly on Varanasi. 

Earlier, he inaugurated the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital which is managed by the Kanchi Math. This will benefit residents across 20 districts in eastern Uttar Pradesh and bordering regions of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

Additionally, PM Modi inaugurated new terminal buildings at Rewa Airport, Maa Mahamaya Airport in Ambikapur, and Sarsawa Airport, under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)-UDAN. Together, these projects are valued at an estimated 220 INR-Crore. Several civil enclaves, including those at Agra and Darbhanga airports, will receive investments of over 570 INR-Crore and 910 INR-Crore, respectively.

PM Modi also laid the foundation for the 1,550 INR-Crore expansion of Bagdogra Airport in northern West Bengal. The Bagdogra Airport expansion will introduce a new terminal building covering around 70,390 SqM. It will be designed to manage 3,000 peak-hour passengers (PHP) and have an annual capacity of 10 million passengers. The building will also feature a modern apron with 10 parking bays for A-321 aircraft, two link taxiways, and a multi-level car parking facility. 

Moreover, the launch of transformative projects by PM Modi from Varanasi highlights the government’s commitment to strengthening regional connectivity and driving economic growth.
