PM Modi lays foundation stone of DU blocks, Savarkar College

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stones for two Delhi University campuses and Veer Savarkar College on Friday, January 3. The project has an estimated investment of 600 INR-Crore.

The East Campus at Surajmal Vihar will span an anticipated 15.25 Acres and cost an estimated 373 INR-Crore. With a built-up area of 59,618 SqM, it will house 60 classrooms, 10 tutorial rooms, six moot courts, four computer labs, two cafeterias, and two common rooms. The campus will also offer multidisciplinary courses, including LLB, LLM, and a five-year integrated LLB programme.

Additionally, the West Campus at Dwarka Sector 22 is set to cost an estimated 107 INR-Crore. Covering approximately 19,434.28 SqM, it will include 42 classrooms, two moot courts, a digital library, seminar halls, conference rooms, and separate common areas for boys and girls. This new academic block is part of the first phase of development.

In addition to this, PM Modi also laid the foundation stone for Veer Savarkar College at Roshanpura, Najafgarh. Located just five minutes from the West Campus, the college will cover around 18,816.56 SqM and cost an estimated 140 INR-Crore. Furthermore, its modern amenities will feature 24 classrooms, eight tutorial rooms, 40 faculty rooms, department libraries, conference rooms, and a canteen.

These transformative developments will elevate Delhi University’s standing and set new standards for educational infrastructure in India.
