The central government plans to construct the 22nd All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Majra village in the Rewari district of Haryana.
Union Minister and Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh, on Sunday 10th July 2022, declared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon lay the foundation stone for the same.
MP Rao Inderjit Singh also stated that the government will purchase approximately 150 acres of the entire area. Farmers, who willingly want to contribute to this major project, have agreed to donate their lands to the government. He said, “By Sunday morning, roughly 80 acres were registered in the government’s name, and compensation in the amount of INR 30 crores was handed to the farmers.”
The Majra panchayat owns approximately 60 acres of the project’s land. The Union Minister’s spokesperson expressed that the government will also purchase this land before next Wednesday. This project will include a 750-bedded hospital, a medical, and nursing college, acute care units, and an outpatient clinic with a capacity of 1,500 people.
According to MP Rao Inderjit Singh, this AIIMS would provide care for the residents of Haryana. He also stated that the project would benefit 10,000 individuals indirectly and provide direct work possibilities to at least 3,000 people.
