Rajasthan approves 5,120 INR-Crore to improve Drinking Water Supply

The Rajasthan Government has approved a substantial investment of 5,120 INR-Crore to enhance drinking water supply across the state. This initiative is part of the central government’s ambitious Amrut 2.0 scheme, which aims to provide over 800,000 new drinking water connections in cities and towns. As a result, more than 3.5 million people are expected to benefit from improved access to clean water.

The project will focus on improving the drinking water system in Jaipur with an investment of over 560 INR-Crore. Additionally, the Water Supply Department has initiated the tender process for the work to be done in Jaipur. The project includes the installation of 11,400 water smart meters, along with laying new water lines and replacing dilapidated ones. Moreover, it involves constructing 17 reservoirs and three tanks with a total water storage capacity of 5 crore liters to ensure adequate supply during the summer season.
