ReNew, a Nasdaq-listed decarbonisation firm plans to invest an estimated INR 26,400 Crore towards setting up a green hydrogen project in Kerala, with a production capacity of approximately 220 Kilo tonnes per annum (KTPA). The project will be developed near the Vizhinjam Port in Kerala to make the green hydrogen produced suitable for export.
The upcoming green hydrogen facility will be developed in three phases, with phase I having 100 KTPA green hydrogen derivative capacity and phases II & III having 500 KTPA capacity each. The green hydrogen will be used to produce 1100 KTPA of green ammonia and be powered by 2GW capacity electrolytes. The project is anticipated to be completed within 36-42 months of commencement.

Through this project, ReNew aims to contribute towards India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission to set up 5 MTPA green hydrogen production capacity by 2030 and promote exports of green hydrogen and its derivatives.
