RFP for Redevelopment of Kanpur Central Railway Station floated

As of July 2022, North Central Railway floated a tender pertaining to the redevelopment of the Kanpur Central Railway Station. This tender is for the selection of Contractor on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis. IRCON International Limited invited a tender for a pre-bid tie-up for major upgradation and redevelopment of Kanpur Railway Station on an EPC basis. 

Redevelopment of Railway Station, Kanpur Central

The project envisages the redevelopment of the Kanpur Central Railway Station. It also envisages the exploitation of commercial development of leasehold rights on vacant railway land. In Kanpur Central, Uttar Pradesh, this project sits on a land parcel of 67.1 acres. The project’s total construction cost is INR 712.04 crores. 

This project’s brief includes the construction of an integrated multi-modal facility. This facility will facilitate connectivity and ease of access to and from the station premises. The station building shall comprise a ground floor, 1 upper floor, a basement area, and an air concourse. This project will also include the construction of a foot-over-bridge and a parcel office. The construction will begin in 2023 and finish in 2025.

The other entities associated with the project include Egis India Consulting Engineers Private Limited, Bridge and Roof Company India Limited, and JLL India.
