RfP issued for development of convention centre in Vizag

The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) has issued a request for proposal (RfP) to develop a convention centre in Vizag. The proposed development includes a multi-purpose convention hall attached to a minimum 200-room, 5-star category hotel, along with other facilities.

The Vizag convention centre will be built on an open space within VMRDA Park, located on Vizag city’s Beach Road. The project is estimated to cost INR 250 Crore and will be developed over an anticipated 7.97 Acres of land. The project will be undertaken in a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

Additionally, the multi-purpose convention hall must accommodate a minimum of 2,500 people in theatre-style seating. It should be flexible for hosting meetings, events, and exhibitions of national and international calibre. This initiative aims to further enhance Vizag’s infrastructure and boost its appeal as a destination for conventions and events.
