Nilesh Cabral, the Minister of PWD (Public Works Department), announced that the tender for the construction of the six-lane elevated highway corridor at Porvorim has been awarded to the Rajasthan-based RSBIPL (Rajendra Singh Bamboo Infra Pvt Ltd). The bid winner now awaits approval from the Union Ministry for Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).
The estimated cost of the project is 474.64 INR-Crore, including the construction cost of the elevated corridor along with approach roads. It is anticipated to be completed within 24 months from the issue of the work order.

The elevated corridor will span across 5.2 km, starting from Sangolda junction to Neo Majestic Hotel at Porvorim. The Union Ministry has allocated an approximate amount of 641.4 INR-CRore for the same. With the construction of the elevated corridor, the ministry expects to ease traffic congestion at various points along NH-66.
