The state government has sanctioned an estimated 290 INR-Crore to build a Grand Library in Trichy and an intellectual center. Spanning an anticipated 4.5 Acres near the TVS tollgate, this ambitious project aims to become a hub for knowledge and innovation.
Of the allocated funds, around 235 INR-Crore will go toward constructing the eight-story library. Additionally, 50 INR-Crore will be used for acquiring books and e-books, and 5 INR-Crore for advanced digital equipment and gadgets. The library will feature a total plinth area of 1.8 Lakh-SqFt and two strategically designed entrances.

Furthermore, the upcoming Library in Trichy will house a multifunctional auditorium to host international events and versatile reading and reference sections. The detailed report for the architectural and aesthetic plans is complete. Moreover, authorities plan to float a tender soon, paving the way for construction to commence in early 2025.
