Mumbai: On August 2, Wednesday, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, entered into two important power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) to develop and operate two solar power projects in Maharashtra. These projects, with capacities of 200 MW and 150 MW, will play a crucial role in helping the state achieve its renewable energy targets.
The 200 MW and 150 MW solar installations are scheduled to be operational by mid-2025, generating a significant amount of clean energy annually and reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 428,800 tons and 311,200 tons respectively. Under the terms of the agreements, TPREL will supply clean and sustainable electricity to MSEDCL, making a substantial contribution towards the state’s renewable energy objectives.
Currently, TPREL has a total of 930 MW tied up with MSEDCL, out of which 334 MW is already in operation, and the remaining 596 MW will be commissioned within the next 12-18 months.
