Tata Power subsidiary to set up 3.125 MW captive solar plant in Maharashtra

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has entered into a Power Delivery Agreement (PDA) with Xpro India for the development of a 3.125 MW AC group captive solar plant in Achegaon, Maharashtra. This project will be managed through a special purpose vehicle (SPV), responsible for its development, operation, and maintenance.

The solar plant is anticipated to produce 7.128 million units of electricity annually and will contribute to Xpro India’s polymer processing business’s use of renewable energy. 

Over the 25-year agreement term, the project is expected to generate 161 million units of electricity and reduce approximately 51,660 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

In September, TPREL signed a power delivery agreement to provide electricity to the Neosym Industry from a 26 MW AC group captive solar plant. The project, situated in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, is expected to commence operations in March 2024, with an estimated annual electricity generation capacity of 59 million units.
