The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has initiated the tender process for a 244 INR-crore elevated corridor project in Sambalpur. The project aims to address the traffic congestion issues in the busy Ainthapali area of Sambalpur.
Sambalpur, situated on National Highway-53, experiences significant traffic congestion due to the convergence of the Sambalpur-Rourkela Biju Expressway and a road leading to the Jamadarpali airstrip. This project intends to alleviate these traffic woes and enhance commuting efficiency in the city.
The elevated corridor, spanning 2.4 km with six lanes, including a 1.2-km long flyover section, is expected to be finalized next month. Construction is slated to commence in September.
