The National High Authority of India (NHAI) has proposed the development of the 4-lane road to a 6-lane road. The project will also include the construction of a 4-lane dedicated Port Road for the Port connectivity road from Convent junction to Sheelanagar junction in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Proposed under the ‘Engineering, Procurement and Construction’ (EPC) mode the project will empower the highway infrastructure of Andhra Pradesh.
NHAI Six Lane Port Connectivity Road
The NHAI has extended the bid submission date till 20th July 2022. Currently, the project is in the pre-construction stage, with the construction work finishing in 2023. With a total cost of INR 462 crores, the road will span across a total length of 10.485 km from the Convent junction to Sheelanagar Junction.
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has awarded the contract to SM Consultants, for this project. The Company will provide the Detailed Project Report (DPR), and the Feasibility report and take care of major financial decisions pertaining to the construction of the project.

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) was set up by an act of the Parliament, NHAI Act 1988. The Act is referred to as, “An Act to provide the construction of an Authority for the development, maintenance and management of national highways and for the matter connected therewith or incidental thereto”.
